Load moreWhat are wheat beer glasses?
Wheat beer, also known as weißbier or weizenbier, is brewed with malted wheat. The addition of wheat gives the beer a lighter colour than most other beers. Wheat beer is usually top-fermented and is served in the classic wheat beer glass. With German wheat beer, the yeast wheat is not filtered out, so the beer remains somewhat cloudy. A wheat beer glass is at least 23 centimetres tall, with a thick base, a slim neck and a bulbous shape towards the top.
Wheat beer glasses
Thanks to the special shape of the glasses, the carbonation bubbles rise only slowly, so you can enjoy fresh, fizzy wheat beer for longer at a party. If you take a look at the design of the wheat beer glasses in our shop, you'll notice that they're relatively large glasses. The thick base, slim neck and bulbous top give a wheat beer glass its characteristic look.

The different beer glasses
As a rule, a wheat beer glass has a capacity of 500ml. For beer drinkers who fancy a little less, you should also keep glasses with a capacity of 0.3 litres on hand in your home bar. In our shop, you'll find branded wheat beer glasses, with and without a logo, such as "König Ludwig", "Franziskaner", "Augustiner" and "Erdinger" wheat beer glasses, to name just a few. You can also opt for complete glass sets.
You drink wheat beer from 23 cm tall glasses. A pils, on the other hand, is served at an event such as a wedding in a pils tulip, a thin-walled glass that tapers downwards. Pils goblets are a little smaller and more rounded. An export is a bottom-fermented beer with an original gravity of 12 to 14 per cent and an alcohol content of around 5 per cent. This export beer is drunk from stange glasses.
