Guinness Glasses, Set of 6, 0.5 L Gravity Pint Glass with Harp Relief, Irish Stout
There are beers that taste the same no matter what glass you drink them from. And then there’s stout. These 6 Gravity pint glasses feature a curved tulip shape and are embossed with a large harp directly into the glass —not a print, but a raised contour you can feel with your thumb. As soon as the dark beer is poured into the glass, the harp really stands out.
The Harp—A Distinctive Coat of Arms
The Irish harp is one of Europe’s oldest national symbols—and the brewery has featured it in its logo since the 19th century. An interesting fact: When Ireland later adopted the same harp as its national emblem, the trademark had already been registered. The issue was resolved pragmatically—ever since, the national harp has faced the other way. If you place the two side by side, you’ll see the difference immediately.
A 9,000-Year Lease
The logo reads “EST 1759,” and behind it lies one of the best anecdotes in brewing history: In that year, Arthur Guinness signed a lease in Dublin for a disused brewery site at St. James’s Gate—with a term of 9,000 years at a fixed annual rent. It’s safe to say: The man was confident.
Why the tulip shape?
The bulbous bulge in the upper third isn’t just for decoration. It gives the beer room to build up a clean head when poured and then supports the dense head. The tapered section below makes the glass easy to grip without your hand having to encircle the entire surface. And the fact that the glass flares slightly at the top really shows off the creamy head—exactly the sight this beer is famous for.
Tip for pouring correctly: Hold the glass at an angle, pour it about three-quarters full, then let it settle until the beer and foam have separated. Only then fill it vertically to just below the rim. Patience is part of the ritual here. What makes this set special
- Embossed harp relief on the glass—tangible, not printed
- Gravity tulip shape —designed for stout and its head
- 0.5 l —the classic, pint-sized measure
- Clear harp logo with year and lettering
- 6 glasses —for your home bar, a night out at the pub, or as a gift set
That pub vibe at home
You don’t just drink a stout on the fly. You pour it, wait, watch as the head settles—and only then do you take your first sip. With six of these glasses in your cabinet, your next night with friends is already off to the right start. Sláinte!
